My friend, Kim, is a whiz at anything having to do with a needle and thread and has made award-winning quilts and other textile pieces. Recently, she helped me out with a sewing project and happened to need something new and cheerful to hang in her house, so we bartered our skills. Because she grows lovely orchids, I thought this subject would be perfect.
We both love our new pieces! Have you ever bartered with a friend? If so, what did you exchange?
Orchids are elegant, exotic flowers and represent Easter to many folks. I have never had much luck growing them, but my mother has the magic touch and nurtured one for many years. We saw these orchids two months ago in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and I took many photos knowing that I wanted to paint them when we returned.
I thought they would be perfect to wish you all a beautiful, peaceful weekend, and Happy Easter to those who celebrate!
