Tulip

Hello! I hope you are doing well. Is life starting to feel more normal? Here in Ohio many services and business are reopening, of course with social distancing, masks, and other concessions, and although I am not afraid to be out and about, I think I’ll to continue to stay home as much as possible and bundle my errands to do all at once.

I’ve been working in my art journal lately but have also worked on some bigger pieces of artwork, like this tulip.

May the Force be with You

Since 2011, May the 4th has been known as Star Wars Day due to the pun “May The Fourth be with You.” One of the good guys of the Light Side of the Force is Yoda, a wise, 900-year-old (70-year-old in human years) humanoid-alien who trains Luke how to use the Force against the Dark Side, which is a good thing in case you aren’t familiar with the series.

We watched the Star Wars films often with our kids, but it’s been years since I’ve watched them. When Disney+ launched last year, everyone was talking about the new series called Star Wars: The Mandalorian. A young 50-year-old (4-year-old in human years) Yoda is in the show, and I really don’t know much else about it except that the The Child Yoda is kinda cute, so “paint him I must!”

The Child, young Yoda

Yoda was also known for his wise words. I like this quote: “You will know the good from the bad when you are calm, at peace. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”  I wish the same for you: See the Light, be calm and at peace, love those around you, and be your awesome self!

PS: I’m sure my kids will let me know how much I might or might not have butchered this whole synopsis! 🙂
