Love Cards with Unconventional Colors

It has been a productive, crafty week.  I made a big batch of these Love/Valentine cards for OWH following a challenge of using unconventional valentine colors and think the golden yellow/olive look so pretty.

Punch Pourri Card

The background is embossed with Devine Swirls in white.  The stamps are from Stampin Up’s Punch Pourri set and coordinate with the Boho Blossoms, Heart, and Bird punches.  The olive strip is embossed with SU’s Square Lattice folder, and the yellow edge is punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch.

Next I am working on some traditional-looking Love/Valentine cards with Cricit cutouts.  Hopefully I will finish those in a few days – so many ideas, so little time!

Elegant Hearts Wedding Card

Elegant Hearts Wedding Card

This wedding card is clean, simple, and elegant. A variety of white- and cream-colored hearts were cut in various sizes with Cricut George. Hearts were then dry embossed with Devine Swirls, Square Lattice, and Plaid Pattern embossing folders. The top of the card was embossed with tiny hearts. Mr. & Mrs. Stamped is a Doodlebug stamp from the “You Said It” set. TGIF – Have a great weekend!

The 2 wedding cake cards were based on a card I learned in a Stampin Up class. They were simple and quick to make yet have an elegant feel.   The cake layers were made with graduating sizes of rectangles embossed with the Devine Swirls embossing folder. Once stacked, the rectangle “layers” were offset by a strand of adhesive pearls. The 3 flowers and bows were just from odds and ends I had in my sticker stash. I tried to use background colors that coordinated with each individual wedding we attended (and we had quite a few in the last year).

Double Heart Love Card

Double Heart Love Card

The double-heart card can easily be an anniversary or any type of “love” card. Two hearts and their shadows were cut with the George Cricut cartridge. The hearts were stamped with a flourish design with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold powder. The Perfect Paisley embossing folder was used for the background which was layered on the same gold cardstock as the heart shadows. A pretty gold ribbon finishes the look.
