Happy Hippo

While working on this post last night, I saw that my previous post of Seagull was in the drafts folder, so I quickly published it because it should have been public on March 8. Then I saw there were comments written from March 8 through the 29 and am so confused. How could my readers see and comment on a post that was still in the draft folder? Who knows?! It just goes along with the extraordinary real-life events of March 2020, I guess.

How is everyone holding up? It took me a couple of weeks to wrap my head around all the unbelievable world events and our temporary new normal, and even though I have had emotional moments on some days, they’ve not lasted too long. I am generally a positive, optimistic person, and after processing all the facts (I’ve been journaling, which is something new for me), I am much more myself. That said, I haven’t been in a place to create much of anything lately, but I’ve worked through that and plan to keep up the momentum. I’m grateful currently to be participating in an online workshop called Sketchbook Revival, and it has helped my mind get back to a creative place. Art is so therapeutic!

Happy Hippo

This is the last piece I created in our Tuesday morning art club, which of course is postponed until further notice.  Two other class works-in-process are on my desk, but there has been a lack of motivation to continue these.   Surely the mood soon will strike to get back to these, and the series of cute water animals will continue!

I hope this Happy Hippo brings you a smile and that all of you, my dear readers, are staying well in mind, spirit, and body. As they say, we are all in this together and we will persevere! Sending out healing thoughts and much love to you all!

PS:  Unending thanks to all those who work at essential businesses – YOU are true superheroes!
