Last year on our beach vacation we saw many fantastic displays of lightning over the ocean at night. My son was able to capture quite a few amazing photos, and this painting is based on one of those.

I chose this scene because of the pink and yellow colors observed around the lightning and how they reflected on ocean – what a spectacular show we watched!

About a million years ago, or 10 😉, my son and I sat in the car in the pouring rain and watched the lightening strike the ocean, over and over again, spreading out like spider webs across the sea. It is honestly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. You’ve captured it perfectly!!
