These little paintings really took me outside my comfort zone because I generally do not draw or paint people faces.

Elf and Santa
Even though they are not the best, I decided to share because 1) it is part of my art journey, 2) I wanted to participate with Eileen in #adventmcr, and 3) these silly faces made me smile. Four more days!
Those are great! Good job Carol!
Getting out of your comfort zone is very good for you, I am always trying to convince myself of this…lol. Your little paintings look like they stepped out of the 50’s, my kind of look. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for your encouragement, and the merriest of Christmas wishes to you, too! 🎄⭐️
They made me smile too! Thanks for sharing and peaceful days:-)
Thank you, Birgit 😊 Happy Wednesday!
These remind me of vintage Christmas illustrations:)
Very cute
Thank you, Caroline. ☺
Cute! I agree with Caroline. (K)
What is “best”? These are charming!
I think they are great!! And I’m so glad you’re participating. 😀🎅🏻
Thanks, Kerfe 😀
Thanks, Holly. It is true – beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Wishing you beautiful days leading up to Christmas 🎄 💖
Thanks, Eileen, and thanks for leading me out of my comfort zone! It is fun! My favorite part was painting the eyes, for some reason.
I like them Carol. Sorry I’ve been away (my) yesterday, couldn’t read the posts…They will be great for a Xmas card!
Hi Carol, I think when we try to do something outside comfort zone, we become too critical in analysing our work! 🙂 I found your artwork really pleasing the instant I saw it! Both the Elf and the Santa have such scintillating joy radiating from their eyes! And their cheeks have bloated with joy of Christmas! So lovely! 😀
Your eyes are great! I need to work on my faces. I leave it to last and then panic as I’m adding the ink – it’s so permanent!
I feel your angst and have to remind myself it is only paper and I can try again 🙂
Thanks so much for your kind, encouraging words. I am glad you like them, and your descriptions help me see them through your eyes. Thanks for that!
Thanks, Beth. Hope all is well and that ET is still doing okay!
Carol, thank you! All is well happily. ET hates me forcing her to swallow her tablets. She’s still feeble , but hanging in there. I had to go to Holland and Germany yesterday. It was a long day.
I love your drawings, sketches…😊
I love the eyes on both of them! Good job on capturing the twinkle!
